My York Trip
Last weekend we took a spontaneous trip to York whilst we both had a Friday off work. On the morning we booked a last minute room in the city centre. During the day we walked around the city centre visiting the York Minster, Castle and the Shambles. At night we went for a few drinks, listened to a live band and ate at an Ask Italian in the most gorgeous unexpected ballroom. Its such a beautiful city and I always enjoy visiting this place. As usual I brought along my camera to get some pictures of York and it turned out to be a perfect sunny day for it.
In the morning we decided to book a last minute stay in a hotel, hoping we'd get a good discount for an on the day booking. Having already done my research I booked for us to stay at a place called Judges Court. The hotel is slap bang in the middle of York, the location was ideal. We had to park a 5-10min walk away and that did cost us about £25 for just overnight.
The the hotel itself is so well hidden we walked past it the first time. The ally is sandwiched between two shops and at the end of a very long ginnel that opens up in to its courtyard. The decor was so beautiful and we ended getting given room 1. The room that the infamous Dick Turpin was held in during his time in York.
The room itself was just gorgeous. Arched exposed brick roof with a lovely bed and modern ensuite. At night whilst walking back through the walkway the ceiling was lit was lots of picturesque fairy lights. It was certainly one of the nicest hotel rooms i've stayed in and I would highly recommend a stay if your looking for a place in York.
